There are some pet transportation companies that will drive, but honestly I think flying would be cheaper and more practical. THe rabbit can go in a crate and the dogs can too. I live in Alaska, and our airline charges $100 flat rate, per kennel, for one way. so yours would be $300. I think that at only $100 per dog, you'd spend more if you had them driven to California by a company.

My wife and I recently rescued a dog from a no kill shelter. The first month he was with us he was great except for peeing when we would put a leash on him or he got to excited. We continued working with him and thought it would go away. Over the last month it has gotten much worse. We cannot put his leash on him without him peeing. He has also gotten to where he pees on the couches as well. We tried putting him in his crate and he got very upset and peed in his crate for 7 straight days. We are getting very frustrated with him, but we love him very much. We have called a vet and they told us it was submissive peeing. Also recently he pees when he gets upset, he recently peed on both of our shoes when we corrected him. We also tried correcting him but it made it worse. WE NEED SERIOUS HELP, WHAT DO WE DO? I cannot keep to a regular diet and exercise schedule. Not self disciplined enough. But i have recently been eating a lot of muesli and prunes and cereal every day. I still am eating a bit of chocolate, occasional chips and 2 minute noodles. If i try to eat a lot of fibre and try to go for a 15 minute run some skipping maybe and half an hour on the trampoline every day can i lose about 5 kilo's in 3 weeks? 4month old baby girl always constipated?

My daughter is 4 months and is always constipated. We've tried prune juice and it worked for a while but shr started rejecting it so my doctor recommended apple juice and it didn't work ad quickly or as effective but now it doesn't work st all no matter how much she has. It just seems no matter what we give her she is always constipated and er have to give it to her regulary every day for it to be semi normal. A "Friend" abandoned her dog at my house and wont take him!!!?

I used to own a dog over a year ago and due to the fact I couldn't care for him the way he needed to be cared for I gave him to a better home. Now a "friend" had an issue with a LL because she neglected her dog for days on end while he barked and disturbed the neighbors so she told her her she had to get rid of the dog or she would call the SPCA by the weekend. Except I have plans all week and wont be home either, therefore I've explained my house is not an option. She says she is working on an option, but I know the end result will be her leaving him. So... I've told her if he isn't gone by tonight, then I'm calling the SPCA and she said if I did that she'll send people to my house... basically threatening me. Am I being unreasonable???????? I agree with Vie, he might be traumatized from something, maybe he just needs attention and not share it with the other 2 dogs, all personalities are different human and animals alike. Get the behaviorist help and follow up. Some dogs are harder than others to understand but ultimately all dogs are to be understood. It sounds as if you love your dogs, extend the search and find a good behaviorist to help you understand him. If not, and it might sound a bit silly, call those dog training shows ( 'dog whisperer' or 'it's me or the dog' ). It takes time and a lot of patience. If you don't have the time and your brother truly cares for the dog and is willing to spend the time and give the love and patience then leave the dog with him. He might miss you in the beginning but if he gets the love and attention he needs he will be ok in no time.

My daughter never got constipated, or had diarrhea. She was exclusively breastfed until almost 6 months, and then she ate normal table foods in addition to continued breastfeeding. During the winter an animal perhaps deer ate the bark from my second yr fruit trees. I thought I lost the trees. As a result the tree limbs appeared to be dead from the top to approximately one foot from the bottom where I see new green growth. I think my dog is having seizures! Help?!?

She's a 10 yr old cairn terrier. Lately she has had the shakes. Like all the muscles in her body quiver. The shaking comes & goes. Most dogs love things that aren't good for them. You will likely end up with an overweight constipated dog even only feeding tiny amounts. Dogs are usually lactose intolerant so it could really mess with digestive system. How to keep dogs cool in the backyard during hot summer days?

I have 3 small size dogs (min pin, cairn terrier and a border terrier) that love to play in the backyard. Now the summer heat is a killer and although I keep lots of water bowls around and there's a big tree that offers shade and I even got them a little pool. However, I worry they still might be feeling hot and being at work I would not be able to keep a constant eye on them. Any suggestions? Why does my puppy constantly bark?

I have an 11 month old cairn terrier. He barks every night for hours at his front paws. I'll take him for walks and play with him pretty much from the time I get home from work to the time I go to bed (about 5 hours). In the middle of playing fetch or tug or anything, he'll stop and walk away from me and start barking. If I'm watching TV or on the phone, he'll start barking too. And the only time he stops is if I get up and walk over to him OR if I get up and walk out of the room. My dog acts weird when she has food she really likes?

I have a 2 year old Cairn Terrier. She is an excellent dog, very sociable with children and other dogs and is well trained. The only problem I am having with her is that when we give her a bone or a raw hide stick she gets possessive. She growls when we go near her with it and won't give it up. She is fine with her every day food and we can take it whenever we want. She even waits by her bowl until we tell her it's ok for her to eat but for some reason she gets weird with anything she really loves. Is there something we are doing wrong and can it be fixed. Neighbor Trespassing to landscape shrubs on my side of the fence.?

I was trimming a series of hedges to the desired height while still maintaining privacy, when my neighbor approached me and asked me if he could show me how it should look, Which I replied sure as long as you only trim the hedge on your side of the fence. A day later I left for work and came home to find that he butchered the shrubs to below chest level cutting major old growth, and left a pile on my lawn, all large branches from the laurel shrubs on my side of the fence. I have been established here for 5 years and just recently married, (1year 1month) My mother is a co-signer on the place, which I think makes her part owner. The problem is I have had a history of problems with my neighbor, he use to walk around my house to the gate on the far side and enter my fenced in back yard I caught him on more than one occasion and once broke a wood fixture while in my back yard uninvited. He has told me he got out on a medical discharge from the military years ago and my guess is for mental reasons, he is always home and single and is not retired. He is in his late 50's and I am a veteran 30 years old. I have never reported him to the police and now I am wondering if it has been a mistake. He gives me an strange feeling just being near him. HELP ME PLEASE my dog and her aggression towards neighborhood dogs?

My dog is a cairn terrier like from the wizard of oz. She's pretty yappy but very friendly to people. It's dogs she's not. Some dogs she is nice to but they get annoyed by her and all her jumping up and around them in their face. She's had a few doggie friends. But we've also come across quiet a few when its quite the opposite. There wagging their tail and such and she's yapping and growling. One she actually got in a fight with, but he was double her size and she was the one that started it. Well, even though nobody got hurt and their was no legal trouble (haha), we came across him again (its an australian shepard), its an off the leash dog and the owner is elderly. Our dog is always on a leash and harness unless she accidently gets loose which we are always running after her then (thats how she had got in a fight with the australian shepard-they both were off leash and my dog got loose) Anyway, today, our dog was on a leash and harness and we came across the off leash dog. It happily started wagging its tail and came to sniff her. But i knew how she would react and quickly picked her up before it got to close. The thing is, its really embarrassing. It's annoying that the australian shepard is off leash because that would help everybody. It would be no big deal if they came across each other because they both would be restrained but at the same time i understand why, he's an elderly man and rides a golf cart so the dog can get exercise. If he was restrained it could get under the golf cart or something as it walked. Any ideas on how to calm the agression towards this one dog? Thanks and sorry it was so long.

I've got a retail background and can give you a little insight into this. No, they're not trained, it's more of a natural response. Most girls in these positions feel somewhat safe. It's not like they're out at a bar with guys trying to pick them up or anything, they're at work. So a lot of them let their guard down and are a lot more personable. The ones you have to watch out for are sales women that are trying to get you to buy stuff. They are quite crafty in their usage of feminine wiles, and will make you think they promised much more than they intended just to get you to buy stuff. Cashiers are a different story, they don't need to sell you stuff, so they're just being friendly. You can usually ask a cashier for their number if it looks like you guys are getting along well, although some will balk at this (like some girls in any situation).

If a ficus plant quits producing sap after being pruned and de-bugged, is it dead?

I pruned my ficus plant (just a small indoor one) so that it would start growing more horizontal. After that, I found that there were bugs in the soil, so I treated it w/ soapy water. But after 2 months, there's still no new growth, and I just clipped the stem again to see if I could find some answers, and there was no sap inside. Is my plant dead? Dog becoming aggressive, especially when baby is around?

Maybe he's not feeling well? My 100lb yellow lab gets like that when he's sick or tired of our other dog trying to play. My lab is now 7years old and just not that energetic and like to sleep more. But if the younger dog comes up to him he growls and snarls. He has never done that with me yet though. We also noticed that his eyesight may be failing. Maybe call your vet and express your concerns. Maybe they can tell if his change in behavior is medical. Either way they should be able to help you with what needs to be done to stop his behavior.

3 1/2 and 4 1/2 year olds still in diapers?

Well, as it isn't your child it makes the issue hard because anything you do will simply be undone when at home. But, if you're watching them make them sit in the filth and make a big show of how gross it is. I know it sounds crazy but make him feel ashamed of what he's doing, when you go to the bathroom come out and be all proud and smiling and say. "I just went pee on the toilet, I'm such a cool person." If he knows other kids around his age or younger who are potty trained make a point to tell him that and say "They're so cool,", and tell him how cool he would be if he potty trained. With the girl I'd take a slightly different approach, with just showing her and rewarding her with maybe a treat and lots of praise. I think also if you get the girl potty trained it will help the boy because if he's little sister is doing it and he's not then it might be upsetting. I'd also make a point of telling there parents that next year or the year after the boy is going to be unable to go to school or any sort of preschool

What to do about my dog's aggression?

I have a dachshund whose about 7 years old. When he was younger (like 4 or 3 years) old he got into a fight with a rottweiler at a dog park. Ever since then he's become aggressive towards other dogs. He wasn't neutered then but before the fight he was still fine with dogs. Now he's neutered, we recently got a Cairn/Yorkie terrier mix and he gets along fine with her. He's full sized and she's a bit taller than him. She's scared of other dogs and tends to nip & growl when she feels threatened. He used to only go after males, but now he goes after females, only if they're larger than him. I also wondered if the reason he would get into fights or snap at the dogs is because he could tell I was uneasy. I just wish he wouldn't be so aggressive and would really appreciate the advice.

Sweetie... growing up is hard. And you have to remember, your parents are people too. They make mistakes, and they don't always know what is best for you. But I bet they don't hate you and they aren't ignoring you. They are probably just afraid to disappoint you. They might not be able to support you in all of your dreams and desires financially and/or emotionally, but they still love you and are doing what they can. Being a single mom is tough, b/c on top of raising a child, they are trying to live their life. They have bills and mortgage, and insurance, and food, and gas and the list goes on. While worrying about day to day life, there's also concern for the big world and the deployed soldiers and hunger and poverty etc. The list of things to worry about doesn't end. Take a deep breath and sit down with your mom. Tell her how you feel. Tell her you feel left out, that you feel like she's not listening. I made the mistake of not telling my mom how I felt and it took me 8 years to get to a place where I can really talk to her, and yet its still something I'm working on. Let her know that you love her, and that these dreams aren't silly, but actually something you want to do for yourself, and you need her help. Tell her you are bothered by your teeth, and it would mean the world to you if you could have braces; and that braces pay off in the long run. I promise you it's going to be okay and that you'll be able to handle it and you'll make it through. it's not easy, all the way around, but don't forget you aren't the only one struggling. Talking to your counselor is a great start, and like I said, you should also talk to your mom again about how you feel. The more communication you have , the better the relationship. Don't give up; you've got you're whole life ahead of you, and if you want it bad enough, you will find your way to follow your dreams, (as cheesy as that may sound, it's true)

I am new to planitng and caring for fruit trees, but read up on how to plant them and water ect, and planted them inabout a month ago, i live in central indiana. I am needing advice however as differnt people have told me I need to keep alot of the branches trimmed off of the tree the first year others say i do not. so now i do not know to take some of the branches off or leave them. I planrted apple trees pear tree plum tree and two peach trees. I water them each week five gallon each and am also needing to know when i need to spray them as one peach tree is getting some of the leaves chewed on and the onluy thing i see on it is ants. Please adviser on proper trimming first year and acare of my trees. thank you.

A question on klonopin?

has anyone else experienced behavioral issues with klonopin, my wifes doc just put her back on it, last time she took it she also was buying zanex on the side as well as vallium from dealers, she also was getting verbally abusive, she started popping her klonopin more ofter she was only prescrived 1 mg twice a day, she took about 1mg 3 to 4 times a day, she stopped paying attention to our daughter. I feel its klonopin's doing i have had her tested already for other benzoids and she had came up negative. I'm afraid she start popping other pills again and neglect our daughter, i'm so afraid i'm going to have to leave her, for my sanity's sake and our daughters sake.

My dog is very well trained, he can do most trick easily and he is very friendly. I know a family that is constantly busy being out of the house and that is perfectly fine, but the only problem is that they have a sweet rabbit that they have little time for. I had to lop off the top of my Cryptomeria japonica Yoshino, now what?

My 7-foot Cryptomeria suffered bad winter damage and the top three feet of the leader and branches were totally dead, so I had to prune them all off. I realize that Cryptomeria can be coppiced, so I suppose this means it's going to sprout new growth from the cut. This is going to look even worse than it looks now, I'm afraid. From what you are saying, it sounds like it could be the milk. Maybe you could just try avoiding milk/cheese for a few weeks until you get the testing done. If the yogurt doesn't seem to bother, then continue with that so they still get some dairy/calcium. I know if I eat too much dairy (namely cheese), I get constipated, too LOL. That is a common intolerance for many people, though. Yogurt may be better tolerated, too because of the probiotics in it.

2 weeks ago I lifted up something kind of heavy. It was a bucket of dirty water that was located on my porch. I live in the 3rd floor so I lifted it up from the 3rd floor all the way down and It must of weight about 55 to 65 Pound's is my guess. When I came back upstairs I was so tired and my legs and arms were shaky and I needed to take a poop so I went to the bathroom and nothing was coming out but like yellowish/ brownish smudge. Maybe he's not feeling well? My 100lb yellow lab gets like that when he's sick or tired of our other dog trying to play. My lab is now 7years old and just not that energetic and like to sleep more. What is happening to my orchid?

I have had one of my orchids for about a year. Grew beautifully even after my niece broke it when "picking the pretty flower." I recently bought another "mini orchid" and set it next to it on the window. Now, after a couple weeks, both orchids look like they are dying. The trouble is the more you give him glycerin, the less likely his body will learn to do the work itself. So it looks like you need water, water, water.....

Cairn terrier claws are to sharp!?

Our cairn terrier is 9 months old and already we have had to take her for her claws trimmed 4 times. She gets regular walks (2 x 30 mins to school every day along the pavement and a trip to the park atleast every other day) yet her nails are razor sharp. she also has a bad habbit that when we are playing she will grab/pull ur leg or arm with her paws to get ur attention but this means she scraps her claws all down ur skin (causing a lot of upset with our 4 year old son). My cat(s) have become aggressive after spaying. What do I do?

I have an 80 lb just neutered German shepherd and at the same time I spayed a Siamese and a calico a week ago today. Relationship problems, i dont know what to do?

I live in London and he lives in Ireland. We met 6 months ago, after we talked tons online and I decided to fly over there. We've been flying back and fourth maybe once or twice a month ever since. He's at university and I'm still in school, so he's more busy than me. When we first started dating in January, he wouldn't talk to me until 10pm every night and he'd go out clubbing around 4 nights a week. I felt rather neglected, but I kept quiet and just thought 'it'll change soon'. Anyway, it didn't. So I had to tell him that it'd be nice if he sent a few inboxes during the day and perhaps went out a bit less and he's in a long distance relationship and we need time to talk. He agreed with me and stopped. Anyway, problems progressed. He'd forget me, not be fair etc. For example my nan died a few months ago and instead of being supportive, he made things harder for me. I've been depressed for a long time and even suicidal these past few months and he doesn't understand that the way he makes me feel (not worth it, unloved, unattractive) really does not help my depression! Anything nice he's done (bought me flowers, taken me out, anything sentimental) I've had to ask him to do. He's said if I stop asking him to do things, then he'll do it by himself. But I gave him that chance and it didn't happen. He's said he'll change so many times and that tomorrow will be better, but it never happens. I also found out he'd been camming with other females and saying sexual things to them in the first 2 months of our relationship. He'd also been talking to his ex girlfriend and a girl he was previously in love with (he may still be in love with her..) I just don't know what to think anymore. I even caught him appearing offline to me on msn, and talking to this girl he was in love with instead. Everytime I tell him 'I don't feel like you care about me' he gets angry, telling me I'm stupid for thinking that. But am I really stupid for thinking that? I feel horrible, I cry so much. And I've been constantly getting back pain, migraines and stomach pain due to the stress. He's having a hard time at the moment because his dad had a stroke and he started giving me this big lecture saying I should be there for him. Yes, I SHOULD be there for him and understand if he can't talk sometimes because he's with his family. But, where was he when my nan died and now that I am suffering from depression? I'm exhausted and I don't know what to do. I feel like he's not in love with me, like I'm not worth it. But every day I try so hard to make things okay. But the truth is, he was lying to me from day one because I asked him if he'd been camming with any girls and he said no. I feel like I can't trust him at all. I even checked his facebook chats one day as I was extremely paranoid after all of this, and found him moaning about me to some girl he knows. He could be saying 'I'm not lying to you' but instead he's just doing it behind my back and deleting the evidence. I don't know what to do. Because I'm depressed I find it so hard to let go of something or someone that may care about me. I admit after him forgetting me and ignoring me, it's made me chase him more and become quite needy. And me being depressed obviously is hard for him. I don't know if I'm in the wrong or I'm doing the wrong thing. I just don't know what way to turn anymore. I don't want to 'just break up with him, he's not worth it!' I care about him, it's not as simple as that. I'm not saying I shouldn't break up with him, I just need an easier route to do it. Please give me advice, thank you.

I don't want to lose my best friend.....Help?

She's been my best friend for a long time, she's great, but she's also blunt on her feelings...I got a boyfriend about three weeks ago, and I've been neglecting her for a long time, whenever we'd made plans I'd ditch them to hang out with my boyfriend. So we haven't hung out for a long, long time. Even before I got a boyfriend...I said yes to him because the guy I liked said no to me, but i do think i really love him...but the other day she made plans with me so it'd just be us two..but the day before my boyfriend said he was coming over the next day, and i didn't really care if she was there or not so I said yes. I didn't talk to her much that day either, i was busy with my boyfriend..and she told me that she was feeling even more neglected, she understood that i had a boyfriend, but if things go on this way, she'd leave me. i told her things would change, but they never did...it's still the same thing we're talking less and less. and she said she's closing to leaving me, she told me that she doesn't even see me as a best friend anymore..i can't put all my time on her all the time :/

This is most certainly animal cruelty. As others mentioned please call the aspca. You dont have to give a name. Just give them the address and tell them the whole story. Also check animal control. Ours is located in our police station. They will receive a hefty fine and hopefully this will deter them from taking in any more poor little cats.

Tell him your going out with your friends and that he should trust you are not going to do anything. Who cares if guys hit on you. He should feel privileged to be with someone who other guys find attractive and take that as a compliment. He sounds a little insecure and that is his problem, not yours. If he trully loves you he will get over it. I am all for being sensitive to a significant others issues, but this is over the top. You have a right to hang out with your friends and enjoy your life.

Go over to your local barber shop or salon and ask if they mind if you would take some hair clippings with you. Chances are they won't mind. Put it in a plastic or paper bag, get enough of it so that you can spread the clippings on your flower beds. The deer will not come back once they smell the human hair clippings.

Another stray dog came to my house and IDK if she's pregnant?

PLEASE READ thoroughly because alot of people write without thinking or rereading! ANYWHOOO I get strays ALL THE TIME and it is very sad and of course i take them in bathe them, feed them, and give them water and I open them up and give them the opportunity to trust humans. I have a stray cat and a stray dog that I kept for 6 months now and 2 strays that I gave to the rescue and I have 2 of my own dogs on top of that =/ well....another stray came here again but was sooo terrified of anything and everything and I can't tell if she's been neglected or abused or probably both. She's acting weird so IDK if it's cuz she's never had normal interaction with other dogs or people but my dogs have opened her up a lil bit and she has not left my side and even freaks out when I go to the bathroom...i have to hand feed her to eat and it's so hard and IDK if I want to keep her but in her condition, I can't seem to call SPCA. They would either put her to sleep or IDK because she's so weird and doesn't move and she trust me but not fully yet and I've had her for 6 days already...IDK if she's pregnant as well, how can you tell? her nipples are big and hard but loose and I can't tell if it is from a previous litter or if she's in the beginning of her pregnancy PLEASE HELP..i am experienced with dogs and especially abused and neglected but she's a little different and because she acts weird I think she's pregnant...She poops 4 times or more every day since I had her and she eats and drinks more than my dogs and she's smaller than them as well and her rib cage is big and hard but her stomach is mushy and nipples seem loose like hanging kind of...she goes potty outside but waits till I sleep to crap somemore in the house and it seems she can't help herself or hold it so she releases at night..she DOES NOT do that at all during the day and she chews weird things that I never seen dogs chew and she started shredding a blanket I gave her in the middle of the night. She's more awake and alert at night if anything...I was going to keep her and take her to the vet but I have alot of dogs as is and idk what to do with her...she is also blind in one eye so idk if someone did that to her because she seems like she's not used to seeing out of one eye and cautious with her steps and accidentally bangs her face or runs into things on the blind side...she seems healthy overall though

This could be many things, it sounds kinda like it may be Mono. It could be a form of Meningitis. Like I said it could be a lot of things. The best thing to do is make a dr. appt. and get some blood work done to check for the things and blood work will pick up a lot. Good Luck. Wht are some drawbacks for the "forrest pansy" tree (aka redbud)?

Redbuds are one of my favorites as they are usually the sign of spring here in TN as they bloom before most other trees. The only drawback on these I have seen over the years it their propensity to grow multiple trunks or large branches close to the ground which eventually split. This is one reason pruning is key. Make sure to trim off any shoots that appear at the base especially when the tree is young. You may also remove any branches sprouting out in the first 4-5 feet just to keep the tree in good form.

I think my dog is having a fit? Help!!?

You need a new vet to at least get a second opinion. It sounds like your dog is having epileptic seizures and he needs special medication to keep the seizures under control. I have no idea when boxing day was but it sounds like there have been a lot of seizures in a short period of time. Your dog can have brain damage. If the seizures cluster, it is an emergency and you should take the dog to the emergency vet ASAP. Again, this , of course is an educated guess, but blood work can be normal with a seizure dog (I have one) and many other tests need to be done by a canine neurologist. Once more, if this continues, you have to get to another vet or a specialist. With small dogs, these can be easily controlled with meds but again, your dog can suffer permanent damage if they continue. You need to know how to feed your dog with seizures and you have to change a lot of things around your house that can trigger seizers like food, cleaners, air fresheners, carpet cleaners, detergents of any kind and lots more things. Hope you find out what is wrong and can help your dog.
