How can I join the Australian Army?

Hi, I am a student with a student visa in Australia and have been living in Cairns for four years now. I am only 16 but am wondering how I can enter ADFA university after completing highschool. I hear u have to have permanent residency or citizenship to be eligible for entry. I would really like to join ADF as I want to serve a good cause and gain knowledge in self defence.
