Is it too late to train my aggressive dog?

When ever he does some thing wrong corect him in a firm voice,say no or stop until he learns, do not get excitet near him, interduced him slowly to other dogs ,let him smell them, dogs comunicate by smell,or keep him seprate as the trainer says, all the best.
