Billions of pounds given away on foreign aid, billions spent on wars that have nothing to do with the UK ..?

Why does Britain not become a Switzerland. Become a neutral country. trade with anyone or everyone. Become a totally insular country. Britain would not need an army or an air force, no defence budget, that would save hundreds of billions of pounds, it probably would clear the deficit!
