I need help with my Hibiscus plant? Please Help!?

I just bought a hibiscus plant yesterday and am looking it over today and seen that there is ants all over the base of the plant. It is in bloom and there are no aphids that i can see. I was going to replant it into a bigger pot this Friday and keep it indoors all year long. Is there any way to get rid of the ants and not hurt the plant. And how do you really care for this type of plant i have never had a tropical plant before? How often do i water it? What type of soil should i buy? How big of a pot should i get. How do i prune this plant? Anything about how to care for this beautiful plant would be great, Thanks.
